Learning Outcomes

Competences
Students can analyse and critically assess the fundamental differences between democratic and non-democratic political systems. They are able to explain the structure and functioning of the Austrian political system and reflect on it in an international comparison.

Skills	Knowledge
Differentiate and classify political systems based on typological criteria. (k4) Analyse the institutional characteristics and functional principles of democratic systems. (k4) Conduct comparative analyses of political systems and discuss them using concrete examples. (k5) Research, interpret, and present data and facts on the development and comparison of political systems. (k3)	Key components and manifestations of political systems, particularly in democratic contexts. Historical and political backgrounds of the Austrian political system and its development in comparison to other countries.

Criteria for evaluation

^(*)Aktive Beteiligung an den einzelnen Sitzungen, mehrere schriftliche Übungsaufgaben, Seminararbeit oder Klausur, Präsentation.
