Ziele (*)This course aims to:

  • Introduce students to the theory and practice of entrepreneurship.
  • Equip students with a sound understanding of the entrepreneurial process and relevant skills for entrepreneurship.
  • Provide students with a rigorous foundation and tools for analysing different approaches to and different types of entrepreneurship.
  • Enable students to reflect on the potential of the range of entrepreneurial outcomes and how this contributes to the management of organizations, as well as society.

Learning outcomes:

On successful completion of this course, the students will be able to:

  • LO1: Demonstrate fundamental comprehension of the entrepreneurial process.
  • LO2: Apply theoretical knowledge to entrepreneurship cases.
  • LO3: Determine relevant resources and interdisciplinary knowledge and skills to develop the solution to a problem.
  • LO4: Demonstrate the ability to analyse a problem and develop a concise and innovative entrepreneurial solution.

  • The entrepreneur, entrepreneurial opportunity, entrepreneurial process
  • Different forms of capital in entrepreneurial ventures
  • Entrepreneurial failure and exit
  • Social and sustainable entrepreneurship
Beurteilungskriterien (*)
  • Individual exam consisting of multiple choice and open questions (50%)
  • Individual written reflection on learning (10%)
  • Final pitches in groups (40%)
Lehrmethoden (*)The learning and teaching strategy is designed to develop knowledge and understanding in both theoretical and practical perspectives. In addition to self-directed learning, the teaching and learning methods include formal lecture, guest speakers and tutorials, use of case studies and seminar exercises.
Literatur (*)Literature will consist of recent research articles as well as case studies that will be made available. A list of textbooks on Entrepreneurship is suggested for additional reading/basic concepts.
