Objectives Good comprehension of the basics of measurement technology which are taught in the lectures "Sensors and Instrumentation 1" and "Sensors and Instrumentation 2"; Development of the ability to assemble electrical circuits independently and to characterize their behaviour.
Subject This course covers the following topics:

  • Bridge circuits (characterization of unknown impedances)
  • Measurement amplifiers (basic operational amplifier circuits, instrumentation amplifier)
  • Analog-digital, digital-analog converter
  • Current measurement through field measurements (Hall effect sensor, magneto-resistive sensor, flux meter)
  • Resistive strain gauge
  • Temperature measurement
  • Flow measurement
  • Pressure measurement
  • Rotational speed measurement (tacho sensor, inductive sensor, fork light barrier sensor, Reed relais)
Criteria for evaluation Immanent examination situation, additionally short written exams at the beginning of each lab exercise and lab reports. Final exam consists of the independent reproduction of a lab exercise.
