- Mathematical modeling using a computer algebra system and implementation of the models in a simulation tool
- Parameter identification for 1st and 2nd order delay elements
- State controller and state observer design for linear time invariant systems
- Stability analysis in the state and frequency domain
- Transfer functions, controller design in the frequency domain
- Implementation of the models with control in a numerical simulation environment and testing of the controllers for the continuous and discrete-time case
- Testing the discrete-time regulations using laboratory models
