                              (*)The course is divided into 13 lectures, including an exercise-based lecture for training electrical characterization skills:
• SI units – quantity calculus and error calculus
• powder analysis techniques – particle size analyzers
• mechanical testing of materials – elasticity and tensile testing
• thermal testing of materials – calorimetry, thermogravimetry
• radiation and elementary particles – particle-wave dualism, energy, wavelength
• electrical characterization – Ohm’s law, resistivity, conductivity, Joule effect
• impedance spectroscopy – resistor, capacitor, phase shifting, equivalent circuit for data fitting
• magnetic testing of materials – Gaussmeter
• corrosion testing – outdoor weathering, salt spray test
• scanning probe microscopy – AFM, STM. MFM, LFM
• scanning electron microscopy – SEM, EDX, EBSD
• X-ray diffraction
• transmission electron microscopy
• X-ray photoelectron microscopy
• metallography – sample preparation

                      (*)The lecture finishes with a written, 2.5h examination. The evaluation contains multiple choice questions, free descriptions of various techniques, free thinking – actions to take in real life situations and problem solving with elementary calculations.
