Objectives |
Students have profound knowledge of structure and potentials of digital businesses, and the effects of digitization on economy and society. They know the basic terminology as well as legal and technological conditions of the digital economy, and they are able to classify them in an organizational framework.
Students have the ability to evaluate applied technologies from a management perspective and thereby to estimate the effects of a digital transformation. They can select appropriate technologies for the identified transformational challenges and can judge on the need for adjustments of business processes.
Students know common business models in the digital business, are able to identify their typical elements and to assess innovative combinations.

Subject |
Clarification of basic terminology, e.g. internet economy, digital economy, digital business and digital transformation. Genesis of business models in the digital business and transformation of established business models. Trends in digital business, e-commerce and m-commerce. Combinations of digital and physical business processes, e.g., last mile, electronic marketplaces, consumer behavior and online marketing, e-procurement, electronic payment, legal conditions and boundaries.
