Objectives	This group of courses provides competence in language and communication, knowledge in the area of general environmental law, occupational law and product safety law, and gives an introduction into gender studies.
Subject	English: Fundamentals for understanding during listening and reading in the chemical/technical context. Writing reports and scientific papers as well as preparation of oral and written presentations. Techniques of Rhetoric and Presentation: The focus is on rhetoric, speaking technique, use of media, presentation of topics and personal presentation. Law: Fundamentals of environmental legislation, occupational safety legislation, and product legislation. Gender Topics: Overview on the scientific topic technologies and gender, including the current state of discussion of gender in science and engineering. Presentation of selected examples.
