Objectives Students have a competent knowledge of selected advanced topics in production, logstics and supply chain management. They can specify planning problems using appropriate models. They can select and apply suitable methods. Topic “transportation logistics”: Students have a profound knowledge of long-term tactical problems of distribution planning as well as short-term operational planning such as operational distribution planning, parcel delivery, planning for service technicians, patient transport etc. Topic “layout & design”: Students have a profound knowledge of strategic location planning as well as tactical planning tasks for internal layout planning.
Subject Topic „transportation logistics“:
Traveling Salesman Probleme, Vehicle Routing Probleme, Arc Routing Problems, Heuristics, Metaheuristics

Topic “layout & design”:
configuration of job-shop and flow-shop systems, flexible flow lines, flexible manufacturing systems, warehouse design
