Objectives Students are enabled to apply the basic, core and special knowledge and competencies on practical or scientific problems of business informatics. The students are able to deal with topics of the core area software engineering autonomously. Students are capable of acquiring the necessary special knowledge for the topic of the seminar on their own. Basic methods and techniques for scientific work (literature research, structured evaluations of scientific work, presentation of scientific knowledge, etc.) are known.
Subject The focus and topics of the seminar are targeted towards actual developments and trends in science and practice of software engineering.
Criteria for evaluation Quality of the seminar work and of the presentation of the work, as well as the contribution in discussions and reflections of the topics.
Methods Scientific work in small groups on specific and more in-depth topics and technologies. Presentation, discussion and documentation of the groups’ results.

Study material The study material is always related to the actual topic of the seminar. Students may use the libraries, as well as accessible digital libraries (e.g., those provided by ACM, IEEE and Springer).
