Objectives The elective subject "Process Automation and Control" provides additional competences in the fields of automation, measurement technology and control engineering of polymer processing machinery.
Subject Plastic processing systems have to be precisely engineered to achieve the requested productivity. Therefore the included courses offer basic knowledge in hydraulics and pneumatics, electric drives, process sensors, signal conditioning, data acquisition systems, machine controllers, process characterization, applied measurement, process automation and control. It contains the following courses:

- Applied Measurement and Control in Polymer Processing (lecture)
- Production Systems Engineering and Process Automation (lecture)
- Automatic Control 1 (lecture)
- Sensors and Instrumentation 1 & 2 (lecture)
- Design of Electric Drives and Actuators (lecture)
- Computer based Design of Control Systems (lecture)
- Pneumatics (lecture)
- Oil Hydraulics (lecture)
