Objectives The aim is to acquire knowledge and understanding in current issues of international marketing and emerging markets. This includes searching for and analysing state-of-the-art literature as well as getting to know databases, search strategies and different types of literature. Besides the theoretical and conceptual perspective derived from the literature, students will gain insight into the practical applicability of the specific topics. Finally, the theoretical/conceptual and practical insights will be integrated, and the results will be evaluated and discussed.
Subject The seminar deals with current topics in advanced and emerging markets on the strategic and operational level of international marketing. In groups, students work on specific topics in international marketing. In a first step, a theoretical/conceptual perspective is taken on the topics by examining current literature according to the previously specified topics. In a second step, students take a practical perspective, i.e. case studies involving firms and their strategies to investigate the practical and managerial aspects of the topic. Then, the theoretical/ conceptual and practical perspectives will be combined and evaluated. The reflection of the topics and the learnings sums up the essence of the seminar.
