Detailed information
Original study plan Master's programme Polymer Technologies and Science (PTS) 2013W
Objectives This exercise class introduces students to the practical lightweight design with composite materials, particularly to the strength analysis of laminated fiber-reinforced polymers.
Subject performance of fiber-reinforced polymers and an their advantages/disadvantages compared to metal materials / material properties and the elastic material law (classical laminate theory) / analysis of simple composite parts by the use of the engineering constants / strength and degradation analysis of laminated composite materials
Criteria for evaluation Selected examples are calculated on the blackboard. Additionally PowerPoint-slides are provided for download including the basic content of the exercise classes.
Methods Written exam (working time 45 minutes)
