Competences
Students can apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired in the basic and core subjects to solve practical or scientific problems in business informatics and work independently on typical topics in the core area of Communications Engineering.
Skills Knowledge
  • LO2: Students are able to work independently on typical topics from the core area of Communicatioms Engineering. They are able to acquire the necessary specialist knowledge in line with the state of the art based on current specialist literature and present the results of their work professionally in writing and orally (K3).
  • LO3: Basic techniques of scientific work, namely literature research, structured evaluation of scientific work and presentation of scientific findings are mastered (K2).
LO1: The thematic orientation and content of the course are based on current developments and trends in the science and practice of Communications Engineering.
Criteria for evaluation Quality of term paper and presentation; active participation in the discussion and reflection of the seminar topics.
Methods An essential skill related to the development of scientific papers is the self-directed work on novel topics. In order to train this ability, student participation is self-managed, including studying the provided resources and exercises, as well as presentations, in face-to-face classes.

Study material The required reading focuses on the selected seminar topics. Students are allowed access to common Digital Libraries (e.g., ACM, IEEE and SpringerLink), and may also utilize the reference libraries of the Departments of Business Information Systems.
