Learning Outcome 1: Students can deal with central questions related to leadership and change based on well-developed professional and conceptual knowledge. They can apply this knowledge in case studies and concrete situations in a critical and reflective manner.

Learning Outcome 2: Students can select suitable approaches from the fields of personnel management and change management for case-related work in companies and organizations and critically examine their advantages and disadvantages.

Learning Outcome 3: Students can select and apply concepts from the fields of human resource management and change management and evaluate them critically.

Learning Outcome 4: Students can use methods of self-, personnel, team, and organizational management/development and critically evaluate their requirements, advantages, and disadvantages in practical applications.

  1. Fundamentals of leadership and change (including leadership and change in context)
  2. Leadership roles/competencies and leadership development
  3. Motivation, communication, and personnel development
  4. Group and team development
  5. Organizational structure, culture, and development

Learning Outcomes

Learning Outcome 5: Students know the central principles of personnel and change management.

Learning Outcome 6: Students understand the specifics of different approaches, concepts, methods, their possible applications, and challenges in connection with leadership and change in and of organizations.

Beurteilungskriterien (*)A total of 100 points can be obtained in this course:

  • In-class assignments on specific contents and theory-practice transfer (individual or group task): 20%
  • Application-oriented written exam based on the content of the course topics with multiple-choice questions and case studies (individual task): 80%

It is possible to retake the exam once if needed.
Minimum requirement: >50% of the total points

Feedback: Constructive feedback on the in-class assignments and exam results as central element of the course.

LO1 to LO6: Application-oriented written exam

Lehrmethoden (*)To achieve the teaching and learning objectives, different approaches are used in an interactive teaching format:

  • Teaching-centred information input supported by slides and literature
  • Self-directed learning based on predefined literature and materials
  • Input from external experts on selected topics
  • Application of methods, theories, and frameworks by working on case studies in groups
  • Plenary discussions and interactive group exercises
