Learning Outcomes
Competences
Students know the histological structure and function of human tissues.
Skills Knowledge
Students can describe the steps involved in producing microscopic specimens and the structure of the light microscope (K2) and explain its use (K3). They are familiar with the electron microscope (K1). Students can discuss the histological structure and the most important differential diagnostic features of epithelial tissue, supporting and connective tissue, muscle tissue and nerve tissue (K3). Preparation of histological specimens (fixation, cutting, staining), light microscope (structure and use), principle of electron microscopy (with examples), epithelia, connective tissue, supporting tissue (cartilage, bone), nervous tissue (PNS, CNS), muscle tissue (striated and smooth muscles, heart).
