Lernergebnisse |
Kompetenzen |
(*)Students learn standard molecular biology techniques for (membrane) protein purification and reconstitution.
|
|
Fertigkeiten |
Kenntnisse |
(*)Students acquire practical skills in the overexpression, purification, and reconstitution of membrane proteins into lipid vesicles. They gain hands-on experience with key laboratory techniques such as affinity chromatography, detergent-mediated protein solubilization, and vesicle reconstitution. Additionally, they develop competencies in troubleshooting purification and reconstitution protocols, optimizing experimental conditions, and analyzing protein integrity and activity using biochemical and biophysical assays.

Sonstige Informationen |
(*)The course is part of a comprehensive experimental cycle in membrane transport protein research, covering key stages of investigation. This cycle includes protein production and reconstitution into vesicles (“Overexpression, Purification, and Functional Analysis of Reconstituted Membrane Proteins”), assessment of reconstitution efficiency (“Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy”), and functional characterization of the protein (“Single Channel Recordings”). Participation in the other two thematic courses is recommended but not mandatory.
