Learning Outcomes
Competences
Students know and understand real-time signal processing algorithms. They can efficiently implement, combine and verify these algorithms on modern microcontrollers. Furthermore, they can apply this knowledge in order to solve complex tasks.
Skills Knowledge
  • Implement block processing algorithms on a microcontroller (k3)
  • Debug the implemented code (k4, k5)
  • Develop a signal processing chain for a Doppler Radar (k6)
  • DMA/double buffering
  • Blockprocessing concepts for audio signals: Overlap-Add and Overlap-Save methods
  • Different algorithms frequently applied to communication systems: FIR and IIR filters, FFT, Goertzel algorithm, signal generators
  • Signal processing for a Doppler radar by means of a chirp scaling algorithm
Criteria for evaluation Functionality of the individual tasks and ongoing collaboration
Methods Implementation of the algorithms in the programming language C and real-time verification on microcontroller hardware
Language German, if desired English
