Learning Outcomes
Competences
By changing content and practical examples, students can name current developments of advanced functional blocks in microelectronic systems and familiarize themselves independently with a new topic using further literature. They can make architectural decisions and select suitable CMOS technologies for a given task.
Skills Knowledge
  • Analysis of the functionality and trade-offs of advanced circuit concepts (K4)
  • Selection and design of different functional blocks in modern microelectronic systems (K6)
  • Selection and trade-off analysis of a CMOS technology suitable for a given task (K5)
  • Current developments in microelectronic systems
  • Functionality of advanced subcomponents like power management, radio frequency, ADC and DAC, or sensors
  • Properties of modern semiconductor technologies, preferably silicon-based
  • Functionality and trade-offs of complex circuit concepts
Criteria for evaluation Written and/or oral exam at the end of the semester.
