Learning Outcomes
Competences
Students are able to use the most important modules for digital signal-processing in the programming language Python, namely numpy, scipy, and matplotlib. A selection of algorithms, used for processing radar signals can be implemented by the students in Python and the results can be interpreted.
Skills Knowledge
  • Using Python modules for digital signal-processing (k1)
  • Implementing algorithms for processing radar signals (k1, k3)
  • Interpretation of results and plots with regard to radar systems (k2, k4, k5)
  • Decibel and radar-crosssections,
  • Probabilities for detections and false alarms
  • Frequency estimation using the FFT
  • FMCW signal processing
  • Digital beam-forming
Criteria for evaluation There will be programming exercises and, building on these, homework assignments. Both the exercises and the assignments must be completed and submitted digitally by the end of the semester.
Methods Implementation of algorithms in the programming language Python and interpretation of the results.
