Competences
After completing this course, students are able to describe the challenges multinational firms face in financing, risk management and other areas. They can explain the tools available to manage associated problems and are able to support corporate decision-making by proposing potential solutions.
Skills Knowledge
  • LO2: Students can explain the structure and functioning of international financial markets and outline

the merits of different multinational business financing options.

  • LO3: Students are capable of evaluating the impact of interest rate, foreign exchange and commodity

price risk on financial decisions in the global context and are able to assess potential mitigation strategies.

  • LO4: Students can propose solutions in corporate decision-making with respect to cross-border

financing, risk management, investment, and expansion strategies

  • LO1: Students are able to give an account of debt, foreign exchange and commodity markets and

can recall the fundamentals of risk management and the associated use of financial derivatives.

Further information The course focuses on the principles of financial management in the international context. Students should become familiar with the functioning of international financial (foreign exchange and capital) markets and instruments, and understand which strategies multinational corporations may apply to hedge risks through the use of financial derivatives.
