Original study plan |
Master's programme Sustainability and Plastics Management (SPM) 2025W |
Learning Outcomes |
Competences |
Students are able to select adequate methods for the optical and advanced (thermo)mechanical characterization of plastics and to evaluate polymeric materials on specimen level as to haze, transmittance/reflectance in the UVVISNIR range, the curing kinetics or the crack growth kinetics of polymeric materials or hybrid laminates.

|
Skills |
Knowledge |
- to select and operate equipment such as UVVISNIR spectrophotometers, dynamic mechanical analyzers, or fatigue test devices.
- to reduce multi-point data to single-point values such as haze, UV cut-off, gelation time or temperature and threshold strain energy release rate (k3)
- to differentiate plastics and to establish structure/property correlations (k4)
- to systematically compile, present and discuss experimental results in a team of 4 to 6 students (k5)
