Original study plan |
Master's programme Sustainability and Plastics Management (SPM) 2025W |
Learning Outcomes |
Competences |
Students are able to select and apply adequate characterization and test methods for identification of plastics and for assessment of (thermo)mechanical properties.
|
|
Skills |
Knowledge |
- to prepare samples and specimen and to run experiments on an IR spectrophotometer, a differential scanning calorimeter, a dynamic mechanical analyzer, tensile and Charpy test machines and a melt flow index measurement device (k3).
- to identify and differentiate plastics based on IR spectra as well as DSC and DMA thermograms (k3)
- to examine tensile and Charpy impact properties and the melt flow index or rate (k4)
- to establish simple structure/property correlations (k4)
- to systematically compile, present and discuss experimental results in a team of 4 to 6 students (k5)
