Competences
Students are acquainted with basics of the research field "gender and / in computer science". They enhanced collectively their gender competence as well as their social competence in general.
Skills Knowledge
  • Students are enabled to discuss cutting edge theories of gender (k2)
  • Students are enabled to discuss theories of knowledge production and feminist theories concerning the development of technology, especially computer science (k2)
  • Students know how to reflect research results concerning didactics in science and engineering and its contribution to sustain, reinforce or alter gender relations (k3)
  • Students develop social competence as an essential part of gender competence via practical exercises and reflexion on presentations, communication and team work (k6)

Methods
  • Discussion of cutting edge theories of gender
  • Discussion of theories of knowledge production and feminist theories concerning the development of technology, especially computer science.
  • Reflection of research results concerning didactics in science and engineering and its contribution to sustain, reinforce or alter gender relations.
  • Social competence as an essential part of gender competence: practical exercises and reflexion on presentation, communication and team work.
