Learning Outcomes
Competences
Students are able to plan and calculate typical manufacturing tasks in mechanical engineering through guided practical exercises. They can also create and evaluate suitable mathematical models to simulate characteristic manufacturing processes.
Skills Knowledge
Specifically, they can

  • Plan manufacturing tasks, derive and simulate corresponding mathematical models and assess the results (k3, k4)
  • Analyze and calculate process variables and characteristic product properties (k3, k4)
  • Assess and evaluate manufacturing machines and systems (k3, k4)
  • Planning, calculation and implementation of typical manufacturing tasks (e.g. from the fields of machining and forming technology, additive manufacturing, polymer engineering, etc.) by selecting, developing and applying suitable (mathematical) models.
  • Measurement and evaluation of characteristic process variables and product properties for selected manufacturing tasks.
  • Familiarization with typical elements and components of selected manufacturing machines and systems and their properties.
Criteria for evaluation Personal participation, exercises, final report.
Methods Guided accomplishment of practical tasks in teams.
