Learning Outcomes
Competences
The courses VO Electrical Machines and UE Electrical Machines form an inseparable didactic unit. The learning outcomes described below are achieved through the interaction of the two courses.

  • Students are able to understand and calculate the basic electromagnetic characteristics of electrical machines.
  • Students are able to interpret the function and design of selected electrical machines and to evaluate them qualitatively and qualitatively.
Skills Knowledge
  • Apply the basic principles of electromagnetic energy conversion (k3).
  • Analyze and evaluate the operating behavior of various electrical machines (k4, k5).
  • Calculate and analyze electrical machines and magnetic circuits (k3, k4).
  • Evaluate specific machine types quantitatively and qualitatively (k5).
  • Fundamentals of electromagnetism
  • DC machines
  • Fundamentals of AC machines
  • Induction machines
  • Synchronous machines
