Bachelor's programme Computer Science 2025W |
Learning Outcomes |
Competences |
Students are able to apply basic methods of descriptive and inductive statistics. They can analyse data statistically correctly using these methods and correctly interpret statistical analyses and results.
|
|
Skills |
Knowledge |
Students can:
- calculate and interpret descriptive univariate summary statistics
- visualize data with charts and diagrams
- calculate and interpret descriptive bivariate summary statistics
- interpret and calculate simple linear regression models
- calculate and interpret probabilities
- calculate and interpret conditional probabilities
- calculate and interpret probability models for random variables
- apply common statistical distributions
- make estimations based on sample data (point estimators/confidence interval estimation)
- calculate and interpret simple statistical tests
|
Students know:
- the most important methods of descriptive statistics for data visualization
- methods for calculating probabilities and the the most important models in probability theory
- the most important methods of inductive statistics with a focus on estimation and test theory
