(*)Students understand fundamental properties of the entire chain of events from the sequence of a gene to the production of a pure recombinant protein sample, enriched with suitable isotopes (k2). Students understand the difference between analytical and preparative approaches (k2,k5). Students are aware of several methods for protein purification, solubilization, and the usage of affinity tags and can devise a suitable protocol to obtain a target protein (k5,k6). Students can explain key quality control techniques like SDS-PAGE (k2).
