Competences
Students will be able to understand, apply, explain and review selected topics from the field of industrial organic chemistry.
Skills Knowledge
More specifically, upon completion of the course they will be able to - understand, explain and review the specific needs and requirements of a selected field in industrially applied organic chemistry (k2, k3, k4, k5) - understand, explain and critically review synthesis concepts, applications of materials and recycling pathways of industrially organic chemistry on selected examples (refinery, colors, plastics, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, …) (k2, k3, k4, k5)

Underlying concepts and details of -renewable resources - bio-based chemistry (including economical aspects) -recycling of plastics (mechanical vs. chemical recycling) -colors, paints & pigments (formulations, properties, applications) -resins -adhesives (technical and bio-inspired) -explosives
Criteria for evaluation In the frame of a final exam the content of the course is tested
