(*)Students will be able to understand, apply, explain and review selected topics from the field of industrial organic chemistry.

(*)More specifically, upon completion of the course they will be able to - understand, explain and review the specific needs and requirements of a selected field in industrially applied organic chemistry (k2, k3, k4, k5) - understand, explain and critically review synthesis concepts, applications of materials and recycling pathways of industrially organic chemistry on selected examples (refinery, colors, plastics, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, …) (k2, k3, k4, k5)

(*)Underlying concepts and details of -renewable resources - bio-based chemistry (including economical aspects) -recycling of plastics (mechanical vs. chemical recycling) -colors, paints & pigments (formulations, properties, applications) -resins -adhesives (technical and bio-inspired) -explosives
