Learning Outcomes
Competences
After successfully completing the course, students will be able to

• distinguish the field of quantum mechanics from that of classical physics.

• interpret spectra.

Skills Knowledge
By attending the course, students learn to

• develop solution strategies for physical problems in the field of atomic and nuclear physics and condensed matter. (K3)

• describe photons in the particle (energy quantum) and wave image (frequency, wavelength). (K2)

During the course, students acquire knowledge in the following areas of physics:

• Electromagnetic radiation (interference, coherence)

• Quantum mechanics

• Atomic and nuclear physics

• Fundamentals of solid-state physics (crystallography)

Criteria for evaluation oral or written exam (to be determined by the lecturer at the beginning of the semester)
