Students will be able to understand, apply, and explain the basics in laboratory safety in order to prepare them for the upcoming practical courses covered in their bachelor study program.

More specifically, upon completion of the course they will be able to
• understand and explain the specific safety measures and percussions in a chemical laboratory and specifically in the TNF tower (k2, k3, k4)
• understand and explain safety data sheets (k2, k3)
• understand and explain the personal safety equipment and the safety equipment in a chemistry laboratory (k2, k3)
• being able to operate a fire extinguisher (k3)

Methods |
Lecture using PowerPoint presentation and Video material presenting correct behavior in chemical laboratories and risks. The presentation is in English and German in order to guarantee correct understanding of the contents. The presentation will be made available for download, secured by password.
