Learning Outcomes
Competences
Learning Outcomes

  • Demonstrate the ability to use simulation tools for transportation planning and evaluation.
  • Design effective traffic scenarios and interpret results for transportation system improvements.
Skills Knowledge
Learning Outcomes

  • LO3: Develop practical skills in simulation software for transportation design and analysis.
  • LO4: Analyze the societal and behavioral impacts of new transportation technologies on traffic safety and user acceptance.
Learning Outcomes

  • LO1: Understand the principles behind microscopic traffic simulators and their use in testing transportation systems and technologies.
  • LO2: Acquire knowledge of current and emerging technologies in intelligent transportation systems.
Criteria for evaluation
  • Written Seminar Paper (75%): Assessment of the scientific rigor, analysis, and quality of the research presented in the paper.
  • Presentation in Seminar (25%): Evaluation based on clarity, depth of analysis, and ability to communicate the results of the simulation project.
Methods
  • Lecture to provide foundational knowledge on traffic simulation and intelligent transportation systems.
  • Group work to design and test traffic scenarios using simulation tools.
  • Hands-on projects to implement traffic simulations and analyze the resulting data.
  • Examination of real-world examples for the application of emerging technologies in transportation.

Students will present their findings and simulation results during the seminar.
