  • LO1: Deep understanding of key concepts and theories related to time and temporality in organizations.
  • LO2: Knowledge of how organizations construct and manage time in various contexts.
  • LO3: Awareness of the role of temporal perceptions in organizational change, creativity, and innovation.
Criteria for evaluation Students will be evaluated through assignments, presentations, and an end-term paper, each designed to align with the course's learning outcomes. Assignments will assess their ability to analyze and apply temporal theories to real-world organizational contexts, testing both their understanding of key concepts and analytical skills. Presentations will evaluate students' ability to critically assess and communicate research from a scientific paper. The end-term paper will serve as a comprehensive assessment of their ability to synthesize theoretical knowledge and empirical research, critically analyzing complex organizational issues related to time. This holistic evaluation ensures a balance of competences, knowledge, and skills gained throughout the course.

  • Assignments (50%)
  • Presentations and active participation in the seminar (frequency of contributions, but also the extent to which the student has mastered the literature and is able to apply it to new problems) (20%)
  • End-term paper (30%)
Methods
  • Lecture, Discussion, Assignments, Presentation, Endterm Paper

We divide each class into two parts.

  • The first part deals with a central temporal perspective on organizational phenomena, based on lecture and discussion. For this part, students prepare specific assignments. These assignments should be uploaded to Moodle the day before class.
  • The second part consists of a short in class reading, followed by a short presentation by students on a specific case study (1 Slide, 10 Minutes). There are no assignments to be prepared for the presenting students.

Each student must submit an end-term paper (mini-case-study) between ten and fifteen pages (between 4000 and 6000 words, excluding biography). In this paper, an organisation / platform / community etc. will be analysed using one of the temporal perspectives we applied to organizations in the seminar. Documents and/or interviews may be used in addition to the specific literature. The end-term papers should be submitted via Moodle.
