Objectives Knowledge about the mathematical foundations of CAD systems
Subject Free-form curves and surfaces in Computer Aided Design are usually represented by spline curves and surfaces. The course provides an introduction to the mathematical background and discusses several applications. The following topics are covered: Bézier curves and surfaces, B-spline curves and surfaces, Blossoming, rational representations (NURBS), algorithms for interpolation and approximation
