Objectives The main objective of the course is to develop a comprehensive understanding for energy management and it's relevance for the materials manufacturing and processing industry. In addition, the students' competences in the field of technical-scientific research and presentation will be deepened.
Subject The following key topics will be addressed:

  • Energy production, consumption, distribution and storage
  • fossil energy system and industrial processes
  • consequences of the energy transition on material manufacturers
Criteria for evaluation Assessment criteria include:

  • 70% result of the written exam
  • 30% result of the seminar presentation
Methods The course includes 3 methodological approaches:

  • Lectures (involvement of experts from industry)
  • Seminar on given topics
