Objectives |
This course is the third part of a series of basic courses in mathematics. It gives an introduction in theory and praxis of ordinary and partial differential equations.

In general: concept of solution, modelling. classification, solution strategies; Ordinary differential equations: visualization (vector field); initial and boundary value problems, existence of solutions, construction of approximate solutions (successive substitution, Taylor, Runge-Kutta) autonomous and linear differential equations; Laplace-transform, stability; Partial differential equations; classifications and basic solution approaches: hyperbolic, elliptic, parabolic;
