Objectives |
To develop technical students’ abilities to structure and write and academic paper and to plan and deliver a presentation to an academic audience.

Subject |
Students of technical subjects will be introduced to the specifics of academic papers, which have to be written in English. The general structure and the different chapters of a paper will be discussed in detail, formal vocabulary and writing styles will be addressed and academic writing such as constructing paragraphs will be practiced (in-class workshops, homework). Sample papers will be reviewed in order to become more familiar with the appropriate register. Moreover, presentation techniques will be taught and applied by all students in class.
