Objectives Advanced course for master and doctoral students who whish to specialize in the fields of Surface Science and/or Nanoscience.
Subject The course adresses the following scientific topics:

  1. Brief introduction to Surface Science and Nanoanalytics
  2. Fabrication and atomic manipulation of Nanostructures on surfaces
  3. Growth, self-organisation and self-assembly
  4. Physical and chemical properties of nanostructures on surfaces: mechanical, electronic, optical, chemical and magnetic properties.
Criteria for evaluation oral examination, dates by arrangement.

Study material presentation slides and additional material is provided in electronic form. Further literature will be indicated in the course.
