Detailed information
Original study plan Bachelor's programme Technical Mathematics 2022W
Objectives Determination of the number of solutions of a system of algebraic equations
Subject When we change the coefficients in a polynomial system of equations, then the number of solutions often remains constant - assuming we are counting complex solutions and take multiplicities into account. This idea is formative for intersection theory, a central discipline of algebraic geometry.
