Objectives Understanding the theoretical concepts for the description of macroscopic systems in thermodynamic equlilibrium
Subject Fundamental concepts and laws of thermodynamics, thermodynamic potentials, simple applications of thermodynamics, phase transitions, the connection between entropy and probability, basics of kinetic theory
Criteria for evaluation (1) Number of successfully solved problems, (2) quality of presentations/commitment during the excercise course, (3) eventually additional excercise exams.
Methods Independent solution of problems (alone or in small groups), presentation of solutions during the excercise course.
