Objectives In this lab course, the contents of the lecture are consolidated and deepened by means of practical exercises. Students learn how to use measuring instruments and can independently set up and characterize measuring circuits.
Subject This course covers the following topics:

  • Measurement instruments and measurement uncertainty
  • Measurement of basic electrical quantities
  • Bridge circuits (characterization of unknown impedances)
  • Measurement amplifiers (basic operational amplifier circuits, instrumentation amplifier, amplifier for strain gauge)
  • Analogue-to-digital and digital-to-analogue converters
  • Rotational speed measurement and motor control
Criteria for evaluation Continuous assessment during labs; short introductory exams; lab reports; final lab exercise
Methods Independent preparation and implementation of laboratory experiments
