Objectives |
Students have an in-depth knowledge of selected advanced topics in production, logistics and supply chain management. They are able to describe planning problems using appropriate models and they are able to select and apply appropriate concepts and (solution) approaches.
Topic "Transportation Logistics": Students have in-depth knowledge in long-term tactical as well as short-term operational distribution planning, such as parcel delivery, service technician routing and scheduling, patient transport etc.
Topic "Multi-Objective Optimization": Students dispose of in-depth knowledge in modeling and solving strategic and operational decision problems with multiple objectives, e.g., facility location planning considering cost and CO2 emissions or distribution planning in a disaster relief context.

Depending on the selected topic, different for the respective topic important problems, models, solution approaches and concepts are taught and their application to practical problems are discussed.
Topic "Transportation Logistics":
Traveling Salesman Problems, Vehicle Routing Problems, Arc Routing Problems, Heuristics, Metaheuristics
Topic "Multi-Objective Optimization":
Pareto efficiency, exact and heuristic solution methods for multi-objective problems, applications in production, logistics and supply chain management. “
