Objectives
  • To familiarize students with today’s business world, which is becoming more and more global and also digital.
  • To provide students with a learning environment that allows for experiencing the benefits and challenges of multicultural and virtual team work, and to give them a chance to reflect on these experiences intensively.
  • To enable students to acquire a holistic picture of activities of an internationally operating company by participating in an online business game over different time zones.
  • To give students the opportunity to acquire skills required for virtual collaboration, by both participating in virtual teams and by having online seminars supported by a web conference tool.
  • To provide students with an understanding of the different challenges companies and employees are facing regarding digitalization.
Subject Virtual teams incl. benefits and challenges of virtual collaboration, new ways of working in a digitalized world, innovation and creativity in a virtual context, Generation Y&Z and the future of virtual collaboration.
Criteria for evaluation Assignments and individual reflections, group video project, short tests
Methods Face-to-face presentation and discussion of models and theories pertaining to virtual teamwork, VIBu RealGameTM online business game (first-hand experience of virtual collaboration), Webconferencing classes
