Objectives Reaching consciousness of the close relationship between economics, economic policy-making and ultimately social policy. Challenges, problems and policy propositions are critically scrutinised in different economic and social fields.
Subject Selected topics from the following fields of interest: Labour markets. International economy. Taxation. Populism, democracy and Political Education. European Union. Financial markets. Industry and competition. Crisis. Migration. Public finances and public sector. Economics as a science. Welfare state and integration. Structural change. Distribution and social affairs. Concepts of economic policy-making. Economic growth.
Criteria for evaluation Final test. Additional bonus points for conributions to the course (statements, short presentations).
