Original study plan |
Bachelor's programme Biological Chemistry 2019W |
Objectives |
This course provides the practical application and training for the students concerning the material, formulae and techniques presented in the lecture course Mathematics II. The students are given well-explained sample exercises and a range of exercises to go through to develop their mathematical skills
|
Subject |
The following mathematical topics are covered, these are the same topics as those of the corresponding lecture course:
Integral calculus: Definition of definite and indefinite integration, integrals of standard functions, geometric meaning of integration; properties of integrals, fundamental relation between integration and differentiation, integration rules (substitution, integration by part, partial integration).
Complex numbers: definition and calculation rules, algebraic, polar and exponential representation of complex numbers and the corresponding calculation rules.
Linear algebra: vector spaces, matrices, matrix multiplication, inverse of a matrix, systems of linear equations.
Functions in several variables: partial differentiation, gradients Hesse matrix, stationary points for functions in more than one variable.
Integration in several variables.
