Detailed information
Original study plan Master's programme Technical Physics 2014W
Objectives Preparatory and attendent courses for the Master's Thesis with direct reference to the research activities of the Center of Surface and Nanoanalytics.
Subject The major objective for the topic "surface and nanoanalytics" is to deepen the understanding of the students for the interactions between particles, which probe surfaces nanostructures, and materials. These techniques are mainly based on

a) electron spectroscopy und - microscopy
b) ion spectroscopy und - microscopy
c) Other scattering and annihilation techniques as e.g. Mössbauer spectroscopy, positron spectroscopy, neutron scattering, etc.
d) Optical spectroscopic techniques
e) scanning techniques (tunneling, atomic force, etc.)

For details take a look at the following courses within the subject:

a) Surface and Thin Film Analysis (VO, UE)
b) Selected Topics in Surface and Nanoanalytics (variable contents)
c) Nanocharacterisation I and Nanocharacterisation II

For details take a look at the following seminars within the subject:

a) Literature seminar on atom- and surface physics (variable contents)
b) Literature seminar on surface and nanoanalytics (variable contents)
c) Research seminar on atom- and surface physics (variable contents)
d) Research seminar on surface and nanoanalytics (variable contents)

For details take a look at the following experimental lab courses within the subject:

a) Specialized lab course on atom- and surface physics
b) Specialized lab course on surface and nanoanalytics
Further information Courses from other modules can be accepted for the modules of surface and nanoanalytics after agreement of the study dean and the main responsible lecturer.
