Study material Lecture Note
The Chapters “Rubber, Elastomer and Compound” and “Design of components” are from Gent, Alan N. (Engineering with rubber: how to design rubber components. Carl Hanser Verlag GmbH Co KG, 2012). The “Elasticity” description is mainly based on Buckley’s contribution on “Experimental Methods for Rubberlike Solids” within “Mechanics and thermome-chanics of rubberlike solids” (Springer, 2004) edited by Saccomandi and Ogden. The constitutive models are extended based on Charlton, Yang, and Teh ("A review of methods to characterize rubber elastic behavior for use in finite element analysis." Rubber chemistry and technology 67.3 (1994): 481-503). “Dynamic Thermomechanical Analysis” chapter is a summary of a literature review including some experimental data of the lecturer.
