Objectives To convey basic physical concepts with relevance for natural sciences and technology
Subject Basic physical concepts with selected contents of physics in the 7th and 8th year in school.

Consolidation of the content in the areas of mechanics and thermodynamics: force, mass, energy, impulse, inertia, rigid and elastic body mechanics, oscillations and waves, kinetic theory of gases, thermic conduction and diffusion, fundamental laws. Basic physical concepts of optics and quantum mechanics: geometrical optics, physical optics, wave-particle duality, basics of quantum machanics: particle in quantum wells, atoms and molecules.

Measurement of basic physical quantities (length, time, voltage, current); Documentation of experiments, measurement errors and error analysis, linear regression; Simple and basic experiments from mechanics, optics and thermodynamics; Documentation and error analysis.

Theoretical Thermodynamics: Fundamental concepts and laws of thermodynamics, thermodynamic potentials, simple applications of thermodynamics, phase transitions, the connection between entropy and probability, basics of kinetic theory.
