Subject Pneumatics deals with the use of compressed air for the transmission of energy and information. The course starts with a recapitulation of fundamentals from fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. The technology of pneumatic components including compressors, valves, and actuators is introduced. Besides the necessary mechanical engineering aspects and the teaching of basic skills in pneumatic circuit design, the focus lies on mathematical modeling and computer simulation of pneumatic systems.
