Original study plan Bachelor's programme Business Informatics 2017W
Objectives Students are able to apply their skills and knowledge gained from the basic subjects for solving practical and scientific problems in the Business Informatics domain. They can independently handle typical topics from the core area of Software Engineering and are able to acquire state-of-the-art knowledge by corresponding literature. Working results are to be presented professionally both orally and in written form. Basic scientific working techniques (i.e., literature research, structured analysis of scientific work and presentation of scientific findings) are to be mastered.
Subject The contents are positioned due to current developments and trends in the domain of Software Engineering.

Criteria for evaluation Assessment is based on a written term paper, an oral presentation and the participation in discussions and reflection of topics.
Methods Scientific work on a core topic in software engineering und wrting of an article in teams of 2-3 students. The students get introductory literature to facilitate the process. The student results are presented and thoroughly discused in the course.
Language German
Study material Students are granted access to project-related literature via digital libraries like ACM, IEEE and SpringerLink. Additionally, the specialized library „Betriebswirtschaftslehre, Wirtschaftsinformatik und Fachsprachen“ (i.e. business management, business informatics and technical languages) can be used.
